It is one most people have heard of and also encountered in its dry form but it is the Italians who have mastered the use of the fresh herb. Throughout history the herb sage, a member of the mint family, has been an acclaimed natural remedy. It has been highly valued for both its culinary and health benefits. The word for the herb sage comes from the Latin word, ?salvia?, which means

Study shows that garlic may boost immunity by stimulating the body’s “killer cells”, the first line of defense against infections - and cancer. Cooking garlic will destroy its allicin, so the raw root is far more potent. A note about “garlic breath” : Chopping your garlic with parsley will

I had this idea on heating up chicken and sweet corn from a can yesterday when I did some groceries. I thought, I can add the frozen sweet corn that I had in the freezer and add in some mushroom that I bought as well. I cooked some rice as well. Not exactly cooking in the pot. I use the rice cooker. So, it should be the rice cooker cooking the rice. Hehe.. It turned out really nice actually
Demy Digital Recipe Reader Brings The E-Book To The Kitchen
A company called Key Ingredient has created a device for the kitchen that’s somewhere between a souped-up kitchen calculator and a full-fledged e-book reader. The new device is called the Demy, and it’s known as a “digital recipe reader.” This gadget offers up a semi-ruggedized seven-inch display that’s sealed against typical cooking-space splatters. The Demy can store up to 2,500 recipes and has three kitchen timers, a handy measurement calculator and a nifty ingredient substitution dictionary
Build Your Own Nacho Salad
One of the easiest meals I make is a nacho salad that is a “build your own” meal. It’s really easy, the only cooking I have to do is the ground beef. This would work great for a party, a build your own nacho salad bar. I like everything in my nacho salad, fully loaded. Here’s what you’ll need: Brown a pound of lean ground beef 1/4 of a medium onion, diced 2-3 teaspoons of cumin 1-2 teaspoons of chili powder 1 teaspoon of garlic 1/4 cup water 1 container of sour cream your
Bananas at the Beach
A few weekends ago, we went to Cottesloe Beach for a picnic and play. It’s been a really long time since we’ve done something spontaneous and fun as a family. The weeks have been flying by, with our days completely dominated by the routine of breakfast, school, extra-curricular activities, homework, dinner, bath, and bedtime. The boys are up at 7am, and it’s practically huh-hup-hup like a soldiers until 8pm. I hardly get to play with them anymore.
